Actor Rajpal Yadav has grabbed major headlines, but this time it is not in regard to his acting work but because of the cheque-bounce cases against him. According to the reports, he turned himself in to the Tihar jail on Thursday at 4 pm. This happened after the Delhi High Court declined to grant him relief in the said case. Check out the major details about the same!
Rajpal Yadav Surrends In Tihar Jail
The Delhi High Court declined to extend the deadline for Rajpal Yadav to surrender before the jail authorities. The Bhool Bhulaiya star’s lawyers informed the court that he had arranged Rs. 50 lakhs and also asked for an additional week to complete the payment. On February 2, the actor was directed to surrender by 4 pm on Wednesday. The court reportedly rejected the requested extension, saying that they cannot be expected to show or create a special circumstance for any individual merely because that person belongs to a particular background or industry. The court also mentioned that leniency, though sometimes necessary, cannot be extended endlessly, especially when it is met with continuous non-compliance. A jail source told PTI that the actor surrendered before the authorities on Thursday, 4 pm, and now the jail authorities will follow standard operating procedure.

Cheque Bounce Case Details
As per reports, M/s Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd filed a complaint against Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha Yadav, over multiple bounced cheques and failure to pay the outstanding dues to them. A magistrate court in Delhi convicted the duo in 2018 over the cheque bounce cases and sentenced the actor to six months in prison. However, the verdict was upheld by a sessions court in 2019. The couple then challenged this in the Delhi High Court in 2024. In the same year, the conviction was temporarily suspended and Rajpal Yadav was urged to take up “sincere and genuine measures” towards an amicable settlement with the complainant. On February 2, 2026, the actor was directed to surrender after his continued breachings to the court order to repay the amount to the other party.
