Project Hail Mary Directors React
To avoid any clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Project Hail Mary was postponed. It will now release in India on March 26. During an interaction with Hindustan Times, the directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller reacted to this. Phil Lord in a jest remarked how dare India had their own successful film industry. He laughed while saying this. He further went on to talk about the popularity of Indian films in the US. While talking about this, Phil Lord said that there will be one Bollywood film in the top 10 films in the US, and there is a significant audience there.
Echoing the same thoughts, Christopher Miller said that the popularity of Indian films in the US is increasing every year, and it started with RRR. It’s gaining a lot of cultural relevance as per the actor. Christopher Mill gave a lot of credit to RRR for increasing the popularity of Indian film in the US which many films couldn’t do before that.
In a statement given to Variety India, the directors said that decision to postpone the film was good for both global movie business and Bollywood. As per the reports, Project Hail Mary has earned around $140 million globally.
