She recently turned all the heads after sharing her reaction to the Kriti Sanon starrer Rakshabandhan advertisement. Many criticised her outfit and her tying the rakhi to a dog in it. Now, weighing in on the criticism, Madhu Chopra stated that there should be some boundaries.

As per the reports, Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra, spoke about the Rakshabandhan advertisement controversy starring Kriti Sanon at the Women Building Cinema Together event that was held in Mumbai. She stated that “my body, my choice” was right, but there should be some boundaries and limitations. Dignity and other people’s values should be respected, according to Madhu Chopra. She then stated that one can wear such things where they are normal, but in this case this was not normal. She added, “Sorry to say.” Speaking about Priyanka, Madhu Chopra further said that her children also wear such clothes for work and because they like wearing them; however, she also felt that they need to look good aesthetically as per the occasion, adding that if it’s not looking aesthetic, it will draw criticism. After her comments started going viral, netizens didn’t hesitate to call her out!

Did Kriti Sanon React To Backlash?

After the Rakshabandhan advertisement controversy took over, Kriti Sanon reacted by sharing a statement online. She wrote that the essence of festivals is not in the clothes one wears but the emotions and meaning one holds for the traditions. The Cocktail 2 star added that Rakshabandhan is a bond of protection, adding that she and her sister tie rakhi to each other. Kriti expressed knowing that they can protect each other no less than a brother would. She revealed praying for each other’s health, happiness and long life. The actress added that for them, this prayer and promise extends to their dogs too; after all, they are family! She further asked when people will stop telling women what to wear? According to Kriti, ethnic fashion has evolved over the years, but still a woman’s respect for her culture is measured with just her clothes!! She expressed that culture and traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline. It’s worth noting that the brand that was associated with the advertisement has removed it from all media following the backlash.
