Another sad news made headlines on Saturday about Mary Kom actor Sunil Thapa’s demise. The film featured Priyanka Chopra saw Sunil Thapa in a pivotal role. As per the reports, the actor passed away at the age of 68 on February 7, 2026, in Kathmandu. According to the news, the doctors believe that he suffered a cardiac arrest. Sunil Thapa Passes Away
As per the report, Mary Kom actor Sunil Thapa passed away after suffering from poor health. From the past few days, the actor’s health had been deteriorating and was immediately admitted to the Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu. But unfortunately, he passed away at the hospital, however, there are no exact reasons behind his death as of now. Going by the reports, the doctors suspect that the reason of his demise could be a cardiac arrest.
Sunil Thapa is primarily a Nepalese actor, and has acted in several Nepali films. He has also done roles in Bhojpuri and Bollywood films, and he started his journey as a model in 1974. His breakthrough performance was in Mary Kom and he had also got a nomination for the supporting role in Filmfare Awards. He played the role of Priyanka Chopra’s coach in the film.

He had a career of four decades in films and was one of the popular Nepali actors. His first Hindi language film Ek Duuje Ke Liye released in 1981, and the he went on to feature in many Hindi films like Aaj Ki Awaz, Albela, and Sunil Thapa also featured in Bhojpuri films.
Fans have shared condolence messages on social media, and this is a big loss for the Nepali film industry as the actor contributed immensely.
