Priyanka Chopra Calls Malti “Miracle Baby” After Facing Tough Period With Pregnancies

Motherhood can be very tough, especially if the child is facing any complications after birth or needs extra care and attention. So it’s natural to say that Priyanka Chopra also must have faced a difficult time when her daughter, Malti Marie, who was born via surrogacy, was kept in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for 110 days after birth. Now looking back at that time, the Barfi star spoke about tough pregnancies while calling Malti a “miracle baby.”

While conversing with Marie Claire, Priyanka Chopra recalled the period when Malti was in the NICU for 110 days and said that she was very coveted and very desired because she had a really hard time with pregnancies. The Heads of State star called her kid a “miracle baby” and stated that everything stopped when Malti was born. According to Priyanka, it’s a preemie mom or a NICU mom thing, but she is still in constant fear. The actress feels that when Malti is not right by her side, or she is at school, or when she is in a different country, she feels that her heart is running outside of her body.

She Was Forced To Announce Malti’s Birth
Priyanka Chopra recently appeared on Jay Shetty’s podcast and recalled the traumatic time she and her husband faced after their daughter Malti’s premature birth. She revealed that they went with her to the NICU, and one of them was allowed at a time. The actress said that the little one cried the first time, which was like a “cat.” The Barfi family stated that although their family members flew to support her, the pair was mostly in the hospital. Further, Priyanka mentioned that they were kind of forced to announce Malti’s birth after a media leak threatened to publish news within hours. The actress shared that they weren’t ready, as they didn’t know what would happen with their daughter or how she would be. Further, Priyanka also revealed that Nick would sing to her on his guitar. She also recalled having a little iPod that played all her mantras softly all day inside her crib.
