Did New India Cooperative Bank Write-Off 18-Crore Loan For Preity Zinta? Actor Busts Fake News!

Another day, another celeb smashes fake news around them. This time it’s Preity Zinta who addressed the rumours about having an 18-crore loan “written off” from a bank that is under severe scrutiny for financial irregularities. The actress has slammed everyone involved in spreading this bad word of mouth against her and also expressed deep shock about such fake news about her. Read here to know more about it.

What Was The Rumoured News About Preity Zinta

A news report revealed some shocking details about the New India Cooperative Bank Ltd. and the corruption regarding the loans approved by the bank. As per the Moneylife report, the bank approved loans up to 25 crores without the manager knowing about them. Many loans were never repaid because of Non-Performing assets within a month. Strict actions were taken against the bank by the RBI. In this controversy, Preity Zinta’s name also popped up as one of the clients whose loan of 18 crore was written off by the bank without following any rules. (Written off usually means that a bank considers that bad debt as a loss and removes it from their official accounts.)

However, Preity Zinta’s legal team released an official statement and dismissed such rumours as false news. The statement also revealed that she had an overdraft facility with the New India Cooperative Bank around 12 years back and that particular account was repaid in full and the account was closed.
