Chinese Police Speaks Out On Kris Wu’s Death Rumours

Recent rumours of former EXO member Kris Wu’s death have been circulating online. A Chinese blog alleged that he died after going on a hunger strike. Another source claimed that Kris Wu was put in a tiny, dark room alone, and he died there because of the hunger strike. These posts quickly went viral across all social media platforms, but no solid evidence that confirms these claims came to light.

On 11 November, the Chinese police released a statement officially addressing these claims. They said all rumours related to Kris Wu’s death are totally false. The police also revealed that the viral picture of Kris Wu, where he is sitting in front of a police officer with his hand folded, seemingly being interrogated, is digitally altered.

They explained that Kris Wu’s face had been digitally altered on the body of another prison mate. The original picture was taken from an unrelated case that was reported years ago.

The police also warned netizens not to spread such rumours online, saying that circulating such content online may cause unnecessary public panic and confusion.
