It’s always a good day when someone chooses to reveal their truest self to the world, even if they don’t have to. This is a paraphrased version of a well-known line from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but the emotions are very real. Thai actress Piploy Kanyarat Ruangrung recently came out on her Instagram story. Her confession has sparked supportive messages from fans around the world. Read on for more information below!

Thai Star Piploy Kanyarat Comes Out As Queer, Receives A Flurry Of Support!

While fans are always curious about their favourite artists’ s*xuality, not many openly talk about it. However, for queer viewers of BL or GL series, finding out that someone they support is also LGBTQ+ is a heartening development.

Early in the second fortnight of March 2026, Piploy Kanyarat posted an Ask Me Anything on her Instagram story. One fan, very respectfully, posed a serious question to the actor. They asked her if she was straight, prefacing the query with a “if you don’t mind [them] asking.” The Whale Store xoxo actor responded with a “no worries,” clarifying that she was okay with the question. Then, she revealed that while one could say she was “a queer”, she didn’t like “putting labels on love.” Concluding her statement, she said she just went with what felt right.

Fans loved her candid responses to a question she could’ve chosen to ignore. Piploy (or Ploy) became famous for her roles in ensemble GMMTV series such as The ShipperVice Versa, and a bigger role in The Trainee. While she is yet to lead a full GL (girls’ love) series, several of her characters have been queer.

In The Trainee, Ploy played Ba-Mhee, who is disillusioned with her one-sided relationship with her boyfriend. She discovers her attraction for her senior, a woman confident in her s*xuality. While the couple is not the endgame, her arc in the story was welcomed by those attracted to more than one gender, despite criticism.

Piploy Kanyarat Ruangrung’s next outing is in the upcoming GL series, Ditto, as Anya. The 2026 show will be led by actors Milk Pansa Vosbein and Love Pattranite Limpatiyakorn. However, Piploy’s role is significant. Fans are excited to see the Thai actress play more interesting characters in the future, too.
