Another feather in the cap for Payal Kapadia. The director who received praises for her beautifully shot and directed film All We Imagine As Light is again making her presence at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. However, this time, as one of the jury members and this is huge. The filmmaker headlines after the jury panel, headed by French Actor Juliette Binoche, was announced, and Payal Kapadia is one of them. Many notable actors and directors are also on the panel, and the announcement was made on Monday. Read on to know more about it.

Payal Kapadia At Cannes Film Festival

All We Imagine As Light director Payal Kapadia won the Grand Prix Award for her film at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. However, her association with this prestigious film festival dates back to 2017, when she showcased her short film Afternoon Clouds as a Film and Television Institute of India graduate at the Cannes La Cinefondation. The director again became a part of the festival in 2021, but this time she won L’Œil d’ in the best documentary film award for her film A Night of Knowing Nothing. Now, Payal Kapadia is again returning to the Cannes Film Festival, but as a jury member, and it is certainly a proud moment. She will be part of the jury, which has members like French-Moroccan writer Leila Slimani, Congolese director-producer Dieudo Hamad, among others.
