Park Na Rae Faces Backlash After Addressing Manager Abuse And Illegal Medical Allegations In Video

South Korean comedian and broadcaster Park Na Rae has addressed the current controversy she has been embroiled in through a video; however, it has not been received well by netizens. Na Rae was recently accused of allegedly abusing and withholding payments to her former managers. She has also been involved in the ‘injection aunty’ controversy, which consists of a woman who has been accused of practising medicine illegally. Read on to know more.
Park Na Rae Releases Video Addressing Ongoing Controversy
On 16 December, a video message posted by news outlet Ilgan Sports featured a video message sent by Park herself in which she addressed the controversy. In this video, Park apologised for causing the public. According to her, she wanted to take a step back from public activities to avoid causing further confusion and burdening production staff and co-stars.
The comedian explained that allegations are currently under litigation in a legal process. Park Na Rae reiterated that she will not issue any further comments or explanations on the matter while it is under legal review.
Park Na Rae also announced that she would temporarily halt all her activities and expressed gratitude towards all those who still supported her.
Netizens Reaction
Despite the video explanation, the reaction from the public has generally been negative. Many criticised Na Rae for refusing to address the serious allegations levied against her and said that her apology video did not seem genuine enough.
Netizens further speculated that perhaps she had taken advice from lawyers that had instructed her on what not to say. There had also been calls for her to resign from her involvement in broadcasting.

There are currently several charges put against the comedian, including ill-treatment of her former manager, as well as her involvement in some illicit medical services conducted by a person identified as the “injection auntie.”
