After a captivating performance in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Parineeti Chopra shined in Amar Singh Chamkila. The actor received critical acclaim in the Diljit Dosanjh starer and also got a lot of praise from the audience for her portrayal of Amarjot Kaur. The movie was Imtiaz Ali and Chopra’s first release of the year. In a recent chat, Parineeti described the Netflix release as a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her.
Parineeti Chopra On Her Performance In Amar Singh Chamkila
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Parineeti Chopra had a detailed conversation about her role in the film. About talking about the success of the Netflix film, Parineeti said that this felt like a Lifetime Achievement award for her. She confessed that usually, an actor receives the Lifetime Achievement award after 50 years in the industry. But for Parineeti, this performance of her felt like a bonafide hit for her. Elaborating on this, Chopra said that this film is not a PR-orchestrated hit but is genuinely liked by the audience. And for her, this is better than other parameters.
Parineeti Says Directors See Her In A New Way
While talking about the success of her last film, Parineeti revealed that Amar Singh Chamkila opened a gateway of new roles for her. Adding to this Parineeti says that the kind of roles she is getting after the film are very different as if the directors have seen something in her performance as Amarjot Kaur that they haven’t seen in any other films. Recalling a similar incident, she says that a director called her earlier and said that there was something in her eyes throughout the film that made the performance unique. And also revealed that when they were writing their film, they never thought of casting Parineeti until they saw Amar Singh Chamkila. Parineeti says that this has been a big plus for her career-wise.
