Palak Tiwari is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The action drama film stars Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde and Shehnaaz Gill among others in prominent roles. It is great that Palak is getting her big break into the industry with a big film like this but what she revealed in a recent interview about Salman Khan’s thoughts about how women dress on sets was quite concerning. She revealed that Salman Khan expects the girls on his set ‘dressed modestly’. Um, and why only girls?
As per reports, Palak Tiwari made this revelation in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. She said that Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is not the first time she has worked with Salman Khan but she had also assisted him on the set of Antim. Palak, then, talked about how Salman Khan has a rule for all the female crew on the sets of his films that they all be dressed modestly. She said that the necklines of the dresses should all be decent and the girls should be ‘all covered up like good girls’.
Furthermore, Palak Tiwari said that Salman Khan only has this rule out of concern for the girls because he is a “traditionalist”. She further said Salman Khan wants his girls to be protected but is also okay with whatever they wear. Contradictory, but okay.

Looking out for the safety of girls is all cool but does Salman Khan also have a dress code for men on the sets? Like they should not be shirtless or wear half-pants? By being a traditionalist, does he mean he believes a girl’s safety depends on the kind of clothes she wears? Being the mega-star that he is, he should not promote such sexist ideologies because his fans will believe it like pathhar ki lakeer.
