There is a lot of discourse happening on director Aditya Dhar’s latest film, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. It has not only received praises from the Indian audience but also from the people of our neighbouring country, Pakistan. Recently, a Pakistani man also shared their two cents on the film. While they hailed the film’s direction, the one problem they pointed out was with the glorification of Rehman Dakait’s character, played by Akshaye Khanna. Read here.
What Did The Pakistani Man Write?
While the Pakistani man did not disclose his identity, the person shared his thoughts on Reddit. He started by introducing himself as a guy from Karachi. The person hailed the film’s cinematography and direction, and called it a ‘good watch’. However, the guy went ahead to point out their one big problem with the film which was the glorification of Rehman Dakait’s character. The Reddit user called the portrayal of the character unsettling, and while the user accepted that it could be a fictional character, they were also of the opinion that the makers could use some other name and the user had grown up listening to the horrifying stories of Rehman Dakait, a ‘cold-blooded criminal’, as described by the guy.
The user also questioned if someone would accept a character’s name Dawood Ibrahim and be okay with the glorification of the character. The user also added a fun fact and wrote that the police officer Chaudhary Aslam played by Sanjay Dutt was known for not wearing bulletproof jackets during his deadly encounters.

For the unversed, Dhurandhar shows the gang war enmities in Lyari Town of Karachi. And the film will also have part 2 that is scheduled to release in 2026.
