Abuse Fuels Him
Paapa Essiedu also told the publication that the abuse “fuels” him and that it makes him more passionate about making this character his own because he thinks of how he felt as a kid. He would imagine himself at Hogwarts on broomsticks, adding, “The idea that a kid like me could see himself represented in that world? That’s motivation to not be intimidated by someone saying they’d rather I d*ed instead of doing work I’m going to be really proud of.”
We are proud of the actor for speaking up about it candidly because such things can truly affect a person.
