P Nation’s newest girl group is garnering a lot of attention for their debut music video teaser. On June 20, Baby DONT Care released the first teaser for their song ‘F Girl.’ In the teaser, one of the members is seen walking to a convenience store cash counter and placing a small packet on it. She then places a candy piece in her mouth. What caught the attention of the viewers was that the packet resembled a condom wrapper. P Nation has now addressed the controversy, and this is what they had to say.

Backlash About Baby DONT Cry’s Controversial Teaser

One of the major reasons for this backlash was that most of the members in the group are minors. This is also why the song’s title, ‘F Girl,’ did not sit right with the fans. In response to the controversy, P NATION released a statement about the issue and apologised to those who felt uncomfortable. They said that the teaser was meant to deliver a bold and playful message about rejecting societal norms and standards. The song aimed to promote the message of embracing oneself and surpassing labels such as A-F.

The Company’s Response

They further said that the music video does not have any provocative or s*xually suggestive scenes. The company have decided to take further action in response to the backlash.
P Nation’s official statement read, “The opening scene of ‘F Girl’ teaser 1 was intended to convey a playful and rebellious tone through imagery such as chewing gum and holding a lollipop. We express with the utmost clarity that there was never any intent to sexualize this scene. Furthermore, we affirm that the full music video contains no provocative or sexualized content of any kind.”

The company also said that they have made the decision to remove the particular condom scene from Baby DONT Cry’s music video for ‘F Girl.’ They did this to avoid further misunderstandings and out of respect towards their audience.

P Nation addressed Baby DONT Cry’s concept in their statement, too. They explained the use of cherries which was also criticised for it’s cultural associations. The company explained that cherries symbolise youth, boldness and vibrancy. These are the same qualities and characterics that will be featured in Baby DONT Cry’s group concept.
