Dharmendra’s Name Not On Oscars 2026 Memoriam List?
Indian actors like Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor have also been honoured on the Oscars Memoriam list, however, fans were angry to not see the legendary actor Dharmendra’s name on the list this time. Many fans expressed their opinion on the same and criticised the actor’s exclusion from the Memoriam Segment at the Oscars 2026. However, actors like Rob Reiner and Catherine O’Hara among others received this honour. But that’s not the entire truth.
The “In Memoriam” segment at the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars 2026) paid tribute to many film personalities.
But Dharmendra, one of India’s most iconic actors who died in Nov 2025, wasn’t included.

The legendary star Dharmendra’s name is available in on the official website of Oscars. The extended list released by on the site shows Dharmendra’s name in it. However, there were other Indian artists who were also mentioned in the list: Manoj Kumar, S. Krishnaswamy, B. Saroja Devi, and Kota Srinivasa Rao.
For the unversed, Dharmendra received an honour at the prestigious BAFTA Awards 2026, alongside names like Rob Reiner, Catherine O’Hara and more. His picture showed up on the screen when the actors received the honour posthumously.

After suffering from health issues, Dharmendra passed away on November 2025, at the age of 89. His last rites took place in Mumbai, and many celebrities from the film industry mourned this huge loss.
