Orry Skips Summon Sent By Mumbai Police, Requests More Time
Police officials informed PTI that Orry’s lawyer went to the Anti-Narcotic Cell office in Ghatkopar on Thursday and sought an extension till November 25. The summons was issued in view of statements made by alleged drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, who was recently deported from Dubai.
Shaikh, according to reports, claimed during interrogation that he had organised high-profile parties in Mumbai and Dubai, where several public figures, including actors Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas–Mustan, rapper Loka, politician Zeeshan Siddique and Orry, were allegedly in attendance. According to the police, they want to question Orry for his presence at these events and any possible link to Shaikh.
The case pertains to March 2024, when Mumbai Police seized 126.14 kg of mephedrone (MD) worth around 252 crore rupees from an illegal manufacturing unit at a farm in Sangli in Maharashtra. Shaikh, believed to be connected with the Dawood Ibrahim network, was arrested after being deported from Dubai. He told interrogators that he arranged rave parties for celebrities both in India and abroad.
There is, thus far, no evidence publicly linking Orry with the drug operation itself, with police only confirming that they want to question him.
