Lionsgate has released the trailer for the much-awaited third installment of the action-thriller franchise, Now You See Me, titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. And in true fashion of the franchise, a cryptic billboard with a mysterious message appeared in Times Square, New York, leaving people confused. Here’s everything that went down and why the internet is losing it.
A billboard in Times Square promoting ‘NOW YOU SEE ME’ was live-streamed on TikTok this morning, capturing the attention of thousands. The billboard had a countdown on it and a mysterious phone number on it with the text ‘TEXT FOR MAGIC.’
And the people who had registered on the number received a delightful surprise when they saw $119 being credited in their bank accounts through venmo! The text message redirected them to a site where the users recieved the money after entering a 6 digit confirmation code. A total of $250,000 in digital payments were given away to fans of the movie franchise.
Fan favorites Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher return to reprise their iconic roles, joined by a fresh lineup of new characters including Barbie’s Ariana Greenblatt, The Holdover’s Dominic Sessa and Saltburn’s Rosamund Pike. A first look at the film was unveiled at CinemaCon earlier this month, and it was also revealed that a fourth movie is already being developed.
