After much chatter, Disney has confirmed its lead cast for the live-action remake of Tangled. While rumours about a pop star getting cast for the role of Rapunzel, the studio had other plans for the story. It was recently announced that actors Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim have been confirmed for the roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, officially, but no release date has yet been announced. About Disney’s Tangled Remake
For the unversed, the names of ‘Espresso’ star Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK Lisa, and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink were floating around for being in talks for the role of Rapunzel. On the other hand, multiple stars like Mason Thames, Charlie Gillespie, and Gilli Jones were considered for the role of Flynn Rider. However, the latest update has left fans happy and satisfied. Taking to their social media handle, Disney wrote, “Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in the live-action reimagining of Disney’s Tangled. Coming only to theatres.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the feature picture will be directed by Michael Gracey, who also directed Better Man and The Greatest Showman. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, best known for Do Revenge and Thor: Love and Thunder, served as the project’s scriptwriter. Earlier speculations suggested that Avengers star Scarlett Johansson was cast as the story’s adoptive mother figure, but no confirmations have been received as of yet.

In the original film, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi played the damsel in distress, princess-to-be, and thief who saves her from the evil Mother Gothel. It is expected to be a long-term project, with Disney reluctant to accelerate production given the time it needs to select its leads. There have been no other details given, including a probable launch date.
