Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi’s song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from KD: The Devil has been making headlines after it received backlash from the audience for its vulgarity. And after many celebrities like Kangana Ranaut and Armaan Mallik slammed the same, the actress has finally broken her silence on the same. In a long video, she addressed the backlash and distanced herself from the Hindu version of the track.

Nora Fatehi On ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’

On Wednesday, March 18, Nora Fatehi took to her Instagram and shared a detailed video on the song’s controversy. She said that she originally shot the Kannada version years ago and was unaware of how it would be adapted. She said that she had said yes to the song because it was a big film, and also featured Sanjay Dutt. She said, “It was a remake of what I thought was Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main. When they translated this song, nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar to me, but I do not understand Kannada, so I rely on whatever they say to me.”

Nora revealed that when she attended the launch and watched the Kannada version, she was taken aback by the use of unflattering images in the lyrical video, along with an AI-generated photo featuring her and Sanjay. The experience left her visibly annoyed at the event, though she chose to remain composed. She also explained that she had already told her concerns to the makers. As per Nora, the visuals did not sit right with her from the start, and after seeing the Hindi version, she was prepared for the backlash.

She then distanced herself from the project and opted not to promote the song, since her reputation was at stake.  Reflecting on the big picture, Fatehi spoke about the limited control artists have. While she said that her work was respected in Bollywood, she pointed out that not all industries valued her the same. However, the backlash eventually led to the content being taken down, something she expressed gratitude for.
