Nia Sharma Backs Aly Goni
On Wednesday, August 3, television actor Nia Sharma took to her Instagram story and supported her friend Aly Goni. She wrote, “Being a part of someone’s festivities is the utmost respect itself. And we celebrate Ganpati, Eid, and every festival in India with the same fervour.” In one viral video from the celebrations, Nia Sharma and Jasmine Bhasin were seen chanting Ganpati slogans. Amid this, Aly Goni stood there silent with a smile on his face.
In another video, everyone inside the house was seen dancing and chanting Ganpati slogans, while the actor just nodded his head and smiled. Both these videos sparked a major debate on social media. While some defended him, saying that he is a Muslim, others slammed him, asking why he attended the festivities if he didn’t want to chant.
