NewJeans’ Stalker Sentenced To 10 Months In Prison After Breaking Into Their Dorm Last Year
A man in his 20s had been arrested and sentenced to jail after breaking into NewJeans' dorm.

A young man in his twenties has been charged with burglary for allegedly trespassing into the dormitory of the K-pop girl group NewJeans. It is reported that he is a ‘sasaeng’, an obsessive follower of K-pop, and is being charged with trespass and theft. During the hearing today at June 11, at the Seoul Western District Court 9th Criminal Division, the prosecution sentenced him a 10-month jail term.
This development comes at a particularly sensitive period for NewJeans, who are already embroiled in a legal dispute with ADOR, their former managing agency. Fortunately, the members were not at the dorm during the break-in. They had recently moved out a month prior following contract termination, which means that they dodged a potentially harmful scenario.
How Did The Stalker Break Into NewJeans’ Dorm
As per the record, the stalker entered the group’s old dorm located at Yongsan-gu, Seoul on 18 December 2024. He found the door unlocked and returned on 21 December to force entry. During the break-in, he removed some clothes hangers and banners, recorded video footage while claiming he would be posting them on the internet.
The lawyer for the defendant accepted all allegations and pleaded for mercy from the court. The attorney explained that their client was deeply regretful, had complied with every request from law enforcement, and had no previous offences.

The reporter allegedly took banners and recorded video footage from within the house. Later, he uploaded the video footage online. The lawyer for the defendant accepted all charges and requested leniency from the court. They stated that the client was remorseful, had cooperated with the investigation, and had no prior criminal record. The attorney claimed, as well as the man claimed, that he thought the items were being discarded after the group had left, thus his actions do not constitute theft.
The stalker, during his statement, expressed his deepest regret and apologised to NewJeans and their agency while in tears. “I deeply apologise to the artist I admire and to the agency for causing pain,” he stated. He pleaded to the court asking for a chance to prove himself while expressing a desire to live responsibly, aim to achieve aspirations of becoming a civil servant and look after his ill mother.
