Police Gives Clean Chit To NewJeans’ Former CEO Min Hee Jin In Breach Of Trust Allegations Charged By HYBE
This is a significant victory for Min Hee Jin in the ongoing HYBE versus ADOR legal battle.

NewJeans’ former CEO Min Hee Jin has been officially cleared of breach of trust allegations. The police have officially declared that Min Hee Jin had not engaged in any illegal activities. Following over a year of investigation on charges of breach of trust, the Seoul Metropolitan Police wrapped up its investigation with an official decision against prosecution, clearing her of both charges brought by HYBE. Read on to know what this means for the HYBE versus ADOR case.
What Happened Between HYBE And Min Hee Jin
The row started back in April 2024 when HYBE announced an audit of Min and ADOR, claiming she was trying to take over the company and abuse her powers. HYBE claimed Min was engaging in a breach of trust and neglect of duty by plotting a takeover from within the company she co-founded.
Min Hee Jin, however, better known as the mastermind behind NewJeans, flat-out denied the claims from the very start. She claimed that due to the share structure of the company, where HYBE controls 80% of ADOR, it was simply impossible for a power grab to occur. During one of her public outings while under investigation, she briefed reporters and said, “I will tell the truth,” and even questioned the legitimacy of the breach of duty charges in the first place.
The legal case was further complicated when HYBE hinted at the possibility that Min Hee Jin could have orchestrated the protest email that the parents of the NewJeans members had sent out, an act that had triggered huge public controversy against HYBE.
And now with the police throwing out the charges, the tables could turn. As the bigger battle between HYBE and Min Hee Jin continues to play out, this ruling is a huge victory for Hee Jin, and her fans are all eyes on what she’ll do next in this corporate battle. People are also curious to know what this revelation has in store for the future of NewJeans as a group.
