On Thursday, September 11, a second mediation session was held between NewJeans and their former label, ADOR. Unlike the previous session, which was attended by two NewJeans members, Danielle and Minji, all the members were absent today, and only their legal team was present. No settlements were made during the first mediation session, hence prompting today’s meeting. Read on to know more.
Court To Announce Final Verdict Of NewJeans ADOR Verdict In October
The first mediation session, in hopes of both NewJeans and ADOR settling without the intervention of the law, was held last month in August. Unfortunately, a similar outcome was reported today, and today’s mediation session lasted for 20 minutes, and both parties refused to budge from their demands. South Korean media outlets report that the session concluded abruptly after a very short time. As a result of this, the court will now make its final decision on the case on October 30.
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ side continues to maintain their position that ADOR has violated the terms of their exclusive contract with the group. They demanded their contracts to be terminated because of this reason; however, ADOR has denied all such accusations and is maintaining its stance that the contract between ADOR and NewJeans is still valid.
The legal conflict with NewJeans and HYBE arose when the latter accused Min Hee Jin, NewJeans’ creative director and former ADOR CEO, of planning a coup against HYBE’s ADOR’s parent company.

Min Hee Jin was subsequently removed from her position, and the group responded by declaring that they will leave the label unless Min Hee Jin gets reinstated. A court then granted ADOR an injunction, prohibiting NewJeans from independent promotional activities and effectively forcing them into a hiatus. Fans are now patiently waiting to see the outcome of the trial.
