ADOR Submits NewJeans Demo Songs To Court Amid Legal Dispute, Fans Question Creative Direction
The new songs were made without Beasts And Natives Alike (BANA), the producers for Hype Boy and Attention.
HYBE’s sublabel ADOR has recently submitted multiple unreleased demo songs made for NewJeans to the Seoul Central District Court, as evidence that the company has continued managing the group even during their legal dispute with the agency. The move is being interpreted as an attempt to demonstrate that ADOR has fulfilled its obligations to support and develop the group’s activities as tensions between the parties remain high. ADOR Submits Demo Songs Made For NewJeans To Court
A report by The Korea Herald says ADOR’s submission included more than five demo tracks believed to be in MR format-in other words, the instrumentals and production foundation for the songs have been completed, with no recorded vocals.
During a hearing last month, the judges asked ADOR specifically if the files included new material, to which the agency’s legal team confirmed they did.
None of BANA’s original creatives (who produced NewJeans’ earlier songs) worked on ADOR’s new album. So even in the worst-case scenario where NewJeans returns to ADOR, their music would likely be made by HYBE’s in-house producers & writers—possibly even Bang Si-hyuk himself. pic.twitter.com/kaTYLO1MXT

On October 30, ADOR announced that preparations for NewJeans’ new album were already complete and that the company had been waiting for the group members to restart promotional activities.
Backlash From Fans
The announcement drew backlash from fans when it was revealed that the new songs were made without Beasts And Natives Alike (BANA), the creative ensemble largely responsible for establishing NewJeans’ signature style in hits ‘Hype Boy,’ ‘Attention,’ ‘OMG,’ and ‘Ditto.’ Since the news broke, several fans have flocked to social media to question the quality of the songs and their artistic direction, concerned that ADOR can’t quite nail NewJeans’ sound without BANA.
The filing comes weeks after the court made its first judgment in the case on October 30. NJZ filed an immediate appeal, indicating that the legal battle is far from over.
