Neve Campbell Won’t Return To ‘Scream’ Films As She’s Not Being Paid Enough. We Stan This Queen For Putting Her Foot Down!
Be it any entertainment industry anywhere in the world, female actors have not been paid as much as male actors are, and that is a fact. The pay parity in the industry exists and there is a huge gap between the pay cheques written for female and male actors. This discrimination between the actors’ pay still exists when both do an equally good job and if this is not proof of gender-based discrimination, I don’t know what is. Female actors are now realising their worth and rejecting offers that do not pay them as much as their value is. The most recent actress to put her foot down for this is Neve Campbell. Popularly known as the ‘Scream Queen’ for her prominent role in the Scream film franchise, Neve will not be seen in the upcoming instalment Scream 6.
Neve Campbell Will Not Return To Scream 6
As per a report by Variety, the 48-year-old actress has said that she will not be returning to the Scream film franchise as the money she was offered did not ‘equate’ to the value that she has added to the film series. She has said that as a woman she had to work hard to establish her value in the industry. Campbell further said that it was a difficult decision to move on from the franchise and she sends her love to all the Scream fans.

Neve Campbell has spoken about the pay parity before as well and said that during Scream 3, she did not get a ‘back-end deal’ which made her lose out on the profit share. Even actor Benedict Cumberbatch has shed light on the pay gap between male and female actors. He has issued a statement saying that he will not work in films that do not offer the same money to the female actors that he is getting paid.
