The post got lots of attention in Korea. Many comments said that the Red Velvet member is too old to start acting now. Wait, there’s more. They also said her height isn’t right for actress roles and think that she should’ve tried acting earlier. Following which, many fans came in defence.

One user wrote, “What does ‘too old for acting’ even mean anyone from any age can act if they have the talent to.” Another user wrote, “because they always, aaaalways see women as an object, while we (women) don’t see men as the same, so we don’t really gaf if a man is too old or young to do the same.”

Well, we can’t help but roll our eyes. Like, in Korean dramas, older men often play young roles, and nobody cares. But when Irene gives acting a shot, people start to complain.

It’s not about talent but about age and looks, which is so sad. We hope this noise doesn’t stop her and she keeps going. Everyone should focus on her skills and not age because talent matters the most.
