K-dramas have gained huge popularity around the world. Fans enjoy the storyline, great performances and emotional scenes. Because of this, every new show creates lots of discussion and divided opinions online. In the same way, Netflix’s new series Teach You a Lesson has created a lot of arguments and criticism since it came out on the streaming platform. But what are people talking about? Read on to know!

The drama stars Kim Mu-yeol as the main character Na Hwa-jin. Other actors include Lee Sung-min, Jin Ki-joo, and Pyo Ji-hoon, who is also known as Block B’s P.O. The show is based on a popular webtoon called Get Schooled. In the story, a special government team goes into schools to stop bullying, deal with powerful parents, and fix problems with some teachers. They use strong and sometimes rough methods to solve these issues.

This concept has made many people in South Korea very unhappy. The Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union is against the drama. They say the show makes physical punishment look normal, even though it is not allowed in schools anymore. The union believes the series gives teachers a bad name and supports strict and controlling ideas. They have sent complaints, started online petitions, and held protests outside Netflix.

The original webtoon also received heavy criticism before. Many people did not like how it showed racism and too much violence. Some viewers feel the drama still has some of those same problems, even though the makers tried to make it softer and remove the worst parts.

On the other hand, many people like the show. These fans say it highlights the real and painful bullying problems that happen in Korean schools. Just like that, the series is doing well on Netflix charts in some places.
