The outburst on his latest song–Maniac is creating a lot of buzz on the internet and here’s a massive action taken against Singh. Chandra has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) case in the Patna High Court and is demanding strict action.
According to a report by PTI, Chandra’s PIL states that Honey Singh’s latest track is vulgar and objectifies women. Not just Singh, but various artists including lyricist Leo Grewal, and Bhojpuri singers Arjun Ajanabi and Ragini Vishwakarma have also been mentioned in the PIL, who have collaborated with Singh for the song. Through the PIL, Chandra has asked for major changes in the song, especially the lyrics that represent women as mere s*x objects. She also stated that using Bhojpuri language in the song looks like an easy escape to showcase vulgarity.
Speaking to India TV, the actress criticised the singer for the song and mentioned how women do not enjoy watching television at home or school girls in Bihar feel ashamed to walk on the streets. She also stated how singers gaining fame from “vulgar” songs and lyrics are creating an obstacle for the country’s slow development and shallow mindset. Well, the case is likely to have a hearing later this month. For the unversed, the new track by Honey Singh also features actress Esha Gupta and was released on February 22.
