Nayanthara’s Annapoorani Removed From Netflix After Heavy Backlash For Hurting Hindu Sentiments

Just recently, actress Nayanthara landed into a controversy for her film–Annapoorani. The Netflix project was accused of hurting religious sentiments after a Twitter user named–Ramesh Solanki, filed an FIR against it. Taking it to the micro-blogging website, Solanki shared screenshots of the FIR and mentioned–“At a time when the whole world is rejoicing in anticipation of the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Shri Ram Mandir, this anti-Hindu film Annapoorani has been released on Netflix, produced by Zee Studios, Naad Studios and Trident Arts.

In his note, he also mentioned that a few scenes promote love jihad, where a Muslim character persuades the actress to eat meat saying that Bhagwan Shri Ram was also a meat eater. The complaint was filed against Netflix, Zee Studios, and actors Nayanthara, Jai, and Nilesh Krishna. Responding to the same, Netflix has finally removed Annapoorani from its platform, with an apology published by Zee Studios. The note also mentioned that the makers will make the relevant changes in the film and apologise for hurting any religious sentiments.
