Aryan Khan has made waves with his directorial debut, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, which is currently streaming on Netflix. The show has many cameos, including that of the Animal star Ranbir Kapoor. However, this cameo scene has now landed the makers of the show in some legal trouble. As per the reports, the National Human Rights Commission has asked Mumbai Police to take swift action against the actor and producers for promoting e-cigarettes on the show. Read here for more.
Complaint Against Ranbir Kapoor
As per a report by India Today, the National Human Rights Commission has sought strict action against Ranbir Kapoor and the producers of the Netflix show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood for showing the use of e-cigarettes. In the particular scene, Ranbir Kapoor is seen smoking a vape. As per the commission, this scene promotes the use of a banned item and sends across a wrong message to the younger generation. It also goes against the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019, and the scene also comes without any disclaimer or warning signs, as per the complainant Vinay Joshi.
Furthermore, the complainant highlighted the wrong influence this scene would have on the younger generations and how it breaks many laws too. Reportedly, the Human Rights Commission has also urged the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to address the issue and take actions against the content which may wrong influence the younger generation. The police have also been asked to do the necessary investigation of the matter and submit the report in two week’s time.
