Last night, the news of Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya Fakhri getting arrested for murdering her ex-boyfriend and his female friend hit the internet and sent shockwaves. She has been arrested in the United States and is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend and his female friend in Queens. Read on to know more. 

Why Did Nargis Fakhri’s Sister Aliya Fakhri Murder Her Ex-Boyfriend And His Friend?

On the morning of December 2, Aliya allegedly set fire to a two-story garage which resulted in the deaths of her 35-year-old ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, and 33-year-old Anastasia Ettienne, according to a statement from District Attorney Melinda Katz. As per further reports, the murder was out of jealousy and took place in Queens, New York last month.  Aliya Fakhri shouted “You’re all going to die today,” at Jacobs when she arrived at the garage early in the morning on November 2. Jacobs, who lived upstairs, was asleep at the time. According to a statement from District Attorney Melinda Katz’s office, a witness heard her yelling and came outside to see that the building was on fire. Jacobs’ friend Ettienne came downstairs due to the warning and returned to save him. Unfortunately, neither of them made it and they both died from smoke inhalation and burns.

What Did Nargis Fakhri’s Mom Say?

While defending her daughter, Nargis Fakhri’s mother states that she doesn’t think that Aliya would kill anyone. She was someone who cared for everyone and tried to help them. Furthermore, according to The Post, Edward Jacob’s mother stated that he had broken up with Aliya over a year ago, but Aliya kept trying to get back with him.

What Are The Charges Against Her?

Aliya Fakhri was charged by a grand jury with four counts of first-degree murder,  four counts of second-degree murder, and one count each of first-degree arson and second-degree arson. Moreover, if she is found guilty, she could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
