Nana Home Invasion Case: Suspect Sent To Prosecution, Actor Cleared Of Any Charges

An intruder broke into the actress's home leading to a physical altercation between him, Nana and her mother.

Former After School member and actress Nana is recovering after a frightening home invasion incident earlier this month. The suspect involved in the break-in is now expected to be handed over to the prosecution in custody today, November 24. The incident occurred on November 15th at the star’s residence in Acheon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi Province. Read on to know more about the case. 

Home Intruder Suspect In Nana’s Case Sent To Prosecution

The police said the home invasion suspect is unemployed, and from the questioning, it seems he is neither a stalker nor a fan of Nana. He was then arrested on charges of aggravated robbery on November 17th. The suspect afterwards requested a detention review because officers did not read him his Miranda rights during the arrest. The court rejected the argument, and the period of detention was extended. He will now be transferred, under procedure, to prosecution for further legal processing.

The authorities have also cleared both Nana and her mother of any criminal charges, emphasising that they had acted in self-defence.

What Happened?

According to police reports, a man in his 30s came with a ladder and climbed up to the veranda of Nana’s building. He reportedly entered the home through the unlocked balcony door while carrying a weapon. He allegedly threatened Nana and her mother and then demanded money.

A physical struggle ensued, where both Nana and her mother were injured trying to fend off the attack. At one point, it was reported that Nana’s mom temporarily lost consciousness. After managing to overpower the intruder, the family called the police, who arrested him at the scene.

Nana’s company, Sublime Artist Agency, has released a statement regarding the situation. They confirmed that Nana and her mother are currently resting and receiving medical treatment. The company emphasised that their health and safety remain the priority and asked people to refrain from speculating or spreading personal information online.

Nana is a popular Korean actress who is known for her role in K-dramas like Into The Ring and Masked Girl. She was also part of the K-pop group Aftre School, and its subunit Orange Caramel.
