Mumbai Police Visits India’s Got Latent Set After Ranveer Allahbadia’s Hurtful Remarks

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, and comedaian Samay Raina have been in trouble since the recent episode of India’s Got Latent. The episode had some jokes and remarks hurt people’s sentiments. After police complaints, a Mumbai Police team on Monday reached the studio in Khar where the episode of Samay Raina’s show was shot. Here’s what happened in the case.
Mumbai Police Reaches India’s Got Latent Studio
The complaint filed with the Maharashtra Women’s Commission and the Mumbai Commissioner claims that the show utilised derogatory language. Strict legal action against the perpetrator has been urged by the complaint. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also reacted to the controversy. He said, “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong, and action should be taken against them.”
Former National Commission for Women (NCW) chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma also expressed their shock over the situation. She said that making jokes over a mother or a female’s body didn’t look good and how today’s youth has stooped down to such a level of morally. The Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, also denounced the comments made on the broadcast. “Under the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj, such language will not be tolerated in the state of Maharashtra,” Shiv Sena spokesperson Raju Wagamare cautioned the makers. We shall act in our own way if they don’t put an end to this right away.
