The speculations began when the actor attended her film Son of Sardaar 2’s premiere. And now, she has opened up about her wish to work with him and even called herself his fan. During an interview with Mirchi Plus, Mrunal Thakur said, “Dhanush sir. I mean, after watching Raayan, Maari, Raanjhanaa, and Captain Miller, I am a big fan of his. Oh my god, Asuran is like. I can watch it multiple times. He’s such an institution.” She lauded him for his strong screen presence. This further fueled their dating rumours online, with fans claiming that the duo might be dating for sure.
Further in the chat, Thakur also expressed her wish to work with the Tere Ishk Mein actor. She also shared that while Dhanush was busy shooting for his film with Kriti Sabin, she requested him to come for the screening of her film, Son of Sardaar 2. However, she was unsure that he would come and mentioned that when he attended the screening of her film, she felt very happy.

Mrunal’s attendance at the premiere of Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, fueled suspicion even more. So much so that there was speculation that the couple will marry this Valentine’s Day, on February 14, 2026, but she further denied these claims. Dhanush tied the knot with Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwaryaa, in 2004. Their wedding ceremony was held in Chennai. However, after 18 years of marriage, the couple parted ways.
