Actor Mouni Roy has been facing scrutiny ever since she announced her divorce from Dubai-based businessman Suraj Nambiar. Many speculations as to why they split were constantly coming out, leading to both of them being in the spotlight. Amid this, the duo called all such reports around their personal lives “baseless” with him denying any rumours of “alimony” or a “third-party involvement.” They even urged the public to be respectful and not to drag their “innocent friends.”

On Monday, May 18, Suraj Nambiar took to his Instagram stories and wrote that there was “no alimony” involved in his divorce from Mouni Roy. The businessman also clarified that no other person was involved and that this was a mutual decision based on each other’s well-being. He wrote that everything else is “fiction” and an attempt to target two innocent people asking for privacy. Nambiar also expressed disappointment over other people being dragged into the controversy, and asked for “dignity” in public discussions.
Suraj Nambiar went on to say that everything else except for their statements was false and asked not to target their “friends.” He wrote that he and Mouni have conducted this with dignity and asked the fans to do the same. He concluded by saying that he would not stay silent with “deliberate misunderstanding” coming out. For the unversed, on May 14, Mouni Roy shared a statement regarding the speculation around their marriage and said that it was “unnecessary” and announced their separation.
