Saying ‘I do’ in presence of family and friends, actress Mouni Roy and beau Suraj Nambiar tied the knot on January 27, 2022, in Goa. While the Naagin actress surprised us with her Malayali bridal avatar for the day ceremony, the couple took the nuptial vows according to Bengali traditions in the evening. Donning the best of designers like Payal Singhal, Sabyasachi and Falguni Shane Peacock, all of Mouni Roy’s bridal looks were breath-taking and beautiful. But if you think the wedding festivities have finally ended, then let me tell you that the celebrations have just begun. Returning to the bay, Mouni Roy and husband Suraj Nambiar made a grand entry at the Mumbai airport post their wedding and OMG, the glow on their face was for real. Dressed up in a beautiful red Banarasi saree, Mouni accessorised her newly-wed look with traditional shakha, pola set (white and red bangles worn by Bengali brides), temple earrings, and posed for the paps with husband Suraj Nambiar who too looked great in traditional off-white kurta and pyjama set.
While her choice of Banarasi saree did not come as a surprise to many, it just confirmed the traditional drape’s significance in every bridal trousseau. Post their first-ever public appearance, the couple was welcomed at home by their close friends including Arjun Bijlani, wife Neha Swami, Vanessa Walia, Bunty Walia, Manmeet Singh from Meet bros, amongst others. Later on Sunday, the two were spotted performing post-wedding rituals like griha pravesh, ring rasam, and an after-party. Mouni Roy and her friends took to their Instagram handles and further shared the happy moments from the post-wedding celebrations and I just wanna say, “friends ho toh aise.”
