Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani stars John Abraham, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. Their latest and much-awaited song, ‘Mummy Ji’ featuring  Mouni Roy is out and we are disappointed. Sung by Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor, the song is composed and written by Manan Bhardwaj. The music video showcases Mouni Roy in a shiny red number, however, the choreography and lyrics didn’t impress.

Vedaa Song ‘Mummy Ji’ Featuring Mouni Roy

Another song from the highly-anticipated film, Vedaa is here and to be honest, we are bored. It’s the same old take and takes you back to the time when raps were compulsory in an item number. Sung by Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor, Himani’s voice was perfect for the song, however, the rap wasn’t exactly groovy. Furthermore, the lyrics were just too bizarre and senseless. While the music had a good rhythm, it still wasn’t catchy enough to captivate us. The lyrics felt like they were trying too hard to be quirky but totally missed the mark!

‘Mummy Ji’ might have had a lively vibe at some point, but the entire song doesn’t sit well with me. On the other hand, the choreography done by Adil Shaikh seemed quite basic and didn’t offer anything extraordinary. There wasn’t any addictive move which might become the internet’s favourite. The end of the music video also features John Abraham in a tough avatar and powerful aura. Despite the cringe and weird lyrics, Mouni Roy’s presence added a touch of glamour, and her performance was commendable. However, even with her captivating performance, the overall song failed to capture our hearts or brains with its average melody and poor lyrics. For the unversed, Vedaa is based on a real story and will be released on August 15, 2024. What do you think about this song?
