A former NCT member, Moon Taeil, is currently under major public scrutiny after admitting allegations of quasi-r*pe involving a foreign woman. On June 18, during the first trial of the case, the singer admitted to committing the crime. He also claimed that his former agency, SM Entertainment, forced him to cut ties with them during the investigation. This led him to take part-time jobs for income, according to recent reports.

According to K-media Maeil Business Newspaper, the pop singer claimed that SM Entertainment terminated his contract in response to the quasi-r*pe allegations. The corporation severed connections with him after he was questioned by police about the incident, according to this statement. The investigation began in August 2024, and Taeil left NCT in October of that year. He mentioned during his trial that he didn’t have a full-time job.

“I was kicked out of my agency after working as a singer, and I am currently working part-time jobs,” he said.

Taiel and two of his non-celebrity friends intoxicated a Chinese woman and then se*ually abused her in June 2024. Following the victim’s report, Seoul Bangbae Police Station took her case and applied for an arrest warrant for the three accused. In August, they were summoned for questioning and were subsequently sent to prosecution on relevant charges on September 12, 2024.

In recent updates, the prosecution sought a seven-year prison sentence for the accused and ten years of employment restrictions for Taeil.
