Legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his phenomenal acting career and his valuable contributions to Indian cinema.
Mithun Chakraborty To Recieve Dadasaheb Phalke Award
On September 30, Union Minister for Railways, information and Broadcasting, electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the veteran actor will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the post and wrote, “Delighted that Shri Mithun Chakraborty Ji has been conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recognizing his unparalleled contributions to Indian cinema. He is a cultural icon, admired across generations for his versatile performances. Congratulations and best wishes to him.”
Earlier in April, Mithun Chakraborty received the prestigious Padma Bhushan. He was presented with the award by President Droupadi Murmu. Mithun Chakraborty expressed his joy upon receiving the award and stated that he was surprised to be honoured with the Padma Bhushan as he had never asked for anything for himself from anyone in his life. Furthermore, Mithun Chakraborty made his debut with Mrigayaa in 1977 and was one of the rare actors to win a National Award for his first film. Congratulations!
