The relationship between Min Hee Jin, ADOR’s Former CEO and Bang Si Hyuk, HYBE’s founder, has been strained for a while now. It all started when HYBE accused Hee Jin of orchestrating a coup against the organisation and attempting to take over its sub-label ADOR. She was then fired from the company. Recently, in a court testimony, Min Hee Jin opened up about the circumstances under which she joined BigHit Entertainment, now a subsidiary of HYBE. Read on to know more.
Min Hee Jin Reveals Bang Si Hyuk Courted Her To Join HYBE
On November 27, the third hearing for the lawsuit concerning the termination of the shareholders’ agreement between Min HeeJin and HYBE was conducted by the 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court. Min personally appeared for the trial, and during the questioning, she became emotional and shed tears. The former ADOR CEO spoke about how she was courted by HYBE’s founder, Bang Si Hyuk, after she left her previous company, SM Entertainment.
Min Hee Jin claims that after she resigned from SM Entertainment on 31st December 2018, HYBE’s chairman Bang Si Hyuk contacted her in January. He told Min that an informant from SM informed him about her resignation. He then strongly courted her, saying that he wanted to recruit Hee Jin as talent.
She also testified that Bang Si Hyuk wanted to create a girl group but was hesitant because of previous failed attempts. He said he wanted to form a girl group, but had failed previously with GLAM. “Since he had no confidence in girl groups, he needed me. At the time, I was also considering an offer from Kakao Entertainment,” stated Min Hee Jin.
The former ADOR CEO alleged that Bang Si Hyuk even got on his knees to recruit her. She also said that he went to her father and said, “I will make sure your daughter can do what she wants and do it well,” and “I really want her to come to our company.”

Moved by his apparent sincerity, Min Hee Jin decided to HYBE. She said that after her legal dispute with HYBE, her parents were heartbroken.
