Min Hee Jin Refutes Claims of Favouritism Towards Production Company In ADOR’s Lawsuit Hearing

The lawsuit was filed by ADOR against Dolphiners Films.

HYBE’s subsidiary label  ADOR has recently filed a lawsuit against both Shin Woo Seok and Dolphiners Films, who directed music videos for NewJeans, including ‘Cool With You’  and ‘ETA.’  The company also accused its former CEO, Min Hee Jin, of overpaying and giving preferential treatment to the production company. ADOR also stated that Hee Jin’s approval of Shin to put NewJeans’ music video for “ETA (director’s cut)” on their personal YouTube channel resulted in financial loss for the company. Min Hee Jin Appears In Court To Testify in ADOR v/s Dolphiners Films

On 11 November, Min Hee Jin appeared in court as a witness in a damages lawsuit filed by ADOR against Dolphiners Films and its director Shin Woo Seok. Dolphiners Films is the production company responsible for producing some of NewJeans’ most popular music videos, including ‘ETA’, ‘Cool With You’ and ‘Ditto’.

Today’s appearance marked the first time Min Hee Jin has been seen in court since September 11, when she was involved in a contract termination and stock transactions lawsuit filed by HYBE. 

In the court, Min Hee Jin testified that she had given prior verbal approval to Dolphiners Films for the release of ‘ETA’s music video. The official sponsor for the music video was Apple, and when asked if the sponsor’s consent was required to post the video, Hee Jin replied by saying that she had the authority to approve creative rights. 

Hee Jin also called ADOR’s claims of the party paying penalties to ADOR despite the video being taken down  “unreasonable”. She countered by saying it’s odd that all staff under HYBE make verbal agreements, but only Director Shin is being penalised for it. 

She also refuted ADOR and HYBE’s accusations of the ex-CEO giving preferential treatment to Dolphiners Films by calling them “baseless and slanderous.”

About The Lawsuit

In their lawsuit, ADOR had objected to NewJeans’ music video for “ETA (director’s cut)” being uploaded on Dolphiners Films’ personal YouTube channel instead of HYBE’s channel, HYBE LABELS, where all music videos from groups under the company are uploaded. 

ADOR questioned Director Shin and Dolphiners Films’ authority to upload company-owned NewJeans content to their private channels. After ADOR’s request, Shin stated that they have removed all NewJeans content from the unofficial fan channel called the Ban Hee Soo.

ADOR, however, countered this statement by saying that the company had only requested the deletion of the “ETA (director’s cut)” video.
