Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have reportedly found themselves at the centre of a major behind-the-scenes controversy. According to reports, Brown allegedly filed a formal complaint accusing Harbour of bullying and harassment before production started on the series’s fifth and final season. Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, onscreen adoptive father to Brown’s Eleven, was said to be the subject of an internal probe by Netflix. Read on to know more.

According to a report by Daily Mail, the allegations made by Millie Bobby Brown against David Harbour were serious and sparked months of investigation, as “there were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.” Netflix has not commented publicly on the probe, and sources close to the company reveal that they intend to keep focus on the heavily anticipated finale, positioning it as a global event for the franchise even amidst the controversy.

Millie Bobby Brown, now one of Hollywood’s most high-profile young actors, reportedly had a personal representative on set throughout filming of the season to support her during production. Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in two parts-the first half later this month, and the second slated for release over Christmas, with the final episode premiering simultaneously in theatres and on Netflix on December 31.

The report also touches on personal problems surrounding David Harbour; he has been publicly working through a separation from singer Lily Allen, who allegedly stood by him during the internal studio review. Their marriage has been the subject of renewed attention in recent times, particularly with the release of Allen’s latest album, which many believe channels experiences from their split.
