Famous singer Meghan Trainor has been making headlines ever since her dramatic 60-pound weight loss. And now she also revealed that she welcomed her baby with her husband, Daryl Sabara, via surrogate in January 2026. Though many wished her congratulations and best of luck for this new phase of her life, others shamed her for not having the baby herself. Well, during a recent chat, she revealed the reason behind her choice.

What Meghan Trainor Said

During a chat with People, Meghan Trainor opened up about her decision to welcome her third child via surrogate. She said that though this was not their initial plan, it became the safest option for her under the circumstances. For the unversed, she and her husband Daryl are already parents to two sons, Riley and Barry. Meghan carried them herself, although she had terrible pregnancies and postpartum issues. For these reasons, physicians advised her against having a third child.

She mentioned, “I want people to know that surrogacy is just another beautiful way to build a family. It’s not something to whisper about or judge.” Her physical transformation was also one of the biggest highlights of last year. And while many thought that her decision to have a child via surrogate was because of this, she made it clear that it was due to health issues. During her first pregnancy, she spent days in the NICU due to breathing complications and even developed PTSD after being separated from her newborn while going through emergency surgery.
