In a recent turn of events, famous singer Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalised in New York City and forced to leave her Broadway show midway. This happened during the performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway. Kellon Deryck, her hairstylist and close friend, working with her at the show, confirmed this news. The official website also confirmed that the singer will not be performing in the next matinee.

Her representative, Didier Morais, also told this news to The Hollywood Reporter and said, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.” An X (Previously Twitter) user shared that they had gone to watch Moulin Rouge! The Musical, especially for Megan Thee Stallion, and even caught some initial glimpses of her opening scenes.

However, things took a turn when the show was paused in the middle while the audience was asked to remain seated in the meantime. When they asked the security about the situation, they were told that things were under control at the moment, with updates if anything changed. It was later confirmed that the singer would not return to the stage for the rest of the performance, with no explanation. The replacement performer received praise from the audience member, who also reassured others that the situation was safe and the show continued without further disruption.
In February, it was reported that the Grammy winner would make her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! In The Musical, she would play nightclub impresario Harold Zidler. It was set for an eight-week run at the Al Hirshfeld Theatre, beginning March 24 and concluding May 17.
