It’s finally the end of the year award season in South Korea. One of K-pop’s most prestigious awards, MNET’s 2025 MAMA Awards, is going to take place on the 27th and 28th at Hong Kong’s Kai Tai Stadium. The highly anticipated event will be attended by almost all 4th and 5th-generation K-pop groups right now, and the nominee list is highly competitive as well. Top Honours
The category of the Music Visionary of the year was introduced last year and generated a lot of buzz. The recipient of the title last year for globally celebrating K-pop was G-dragon. The BIGBANG member made headlines with his acceptance speech, where he jokingly added that this is not an award you can win twice, and he’ll be there to accept it next year too.
Another important award that viewers are excited for is the Fans’ Choice Category, which is a category that is purely decided by fan votes; hence, fandoms work really hard to support their favourite K-pop groups and ensure that they win the award. The second day of MAMA will celebrate artists and their outstanding musical achievements.

First Award Show Held In Hong Kong In 7 Years
The MAMA Awards will be returning to Hong Kong after seven years and will be held in the newly built, spacious Kai Tai Stadium. This will be the first award ceremony in K-pop held on such a grand scale. Fans are looking forward to the large-scale spectacular stages and sets that the groups will perform.

A Blend Of Culture And Energy
The concept of the MAMA Awards this year is “UH-HEUNG,” which embraces various regions, races, and cultures, symbolising a fearless declaration to accept oneself. Multiple special collaboration stages will be performed, including one with BOYNEXTDOOR, CORTIS, and TREASURE, which will reinterpret the traditional song ‘Kwaejina Ching Ching’ on the theme of K-Hip. ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin will also headline an exclusive concept stage.
