Actor Accuses Malayalam Actor-producer Vijay Babu Of Sexually Abusing Her, Says ‘She Was Scared To Open Up Because Of His Power’
We have heard the news of workplace harassment and how the entire #MeToo movement gained momentum after sexual abuse claims against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein came to light. So many women from across the world took to Twitter to share their stories by using the #MeToo. Similarly, it looks like these are grey times for the Malayalam film industry. Actor-producer Vijay Babu has been accused of sexually abusing a female actor. But Vijay Babu has claimed that he is innocent and that he is the real victim here.
Sexual Abuse Allegations Vijay Babu
According to a report by India Today, the victim has claimed that Vijay Babu intoxicated her and took advantage of her when she was not in a state to say yes or no consciously. She has also said that he behaved like a ‘saviour’ but actually sexually exploited her. The woman has also gone on to say that she was scared of his power and reach and therefore, could not speak up.
The case against him has been registered by the Kerala Police who have said that the woman has filed a complaint against Vijay Babu saying that he abused her under the pretence of assigning her film roles. In a Facebook live session, Vijay Babu revealed the name of the woman who has accused him of sexually abusing her.

According to a report by Indian Express, In his defence, the Aadu actor went on to say that he knew the woman since 2018 and also had allotted her a role in his production house after seeing her audition. He has also claimed that the woman had sent him several messages saying that she was experiencing depression and that he has around 400 screenshots of these messages. Vijay Babu also said that he has not sent any messages to that woman in the past one and half years. The 45-year-old actor-producer further said that he is going to file a defamation case against the woman. He has been quoted saying, “Let it be the beginning of a new ‘Me Too’. Let us start a new fight.”
