The news of his untimely demise came after his body was found on the floor beneath his residential building. As per reports, Mehta (62) committed suicide by jumping off the building. While the police are still investigating the case, his daughters Malaika and Amrita rushed to their family home, followed by their friends from Bollywood.
Yesterday, the police took his body for postmortem and barricaded the residence for further investigation. In a recent interaction with FilmiBeat, Anil Mehta’s neighbour shared insights about him and what went down a week before his demise. The almost 50-year-old woman revealed “Malaika shared a great bond with Anil Arora. They often partied together. Arhaan, Malaika Arora’s son, even lived here for a while. Anil Arora lived on the sixth floor. He shared a good relationship with Joyce despite their divorce.” Recollecting an instance, she mentioned that it was only a few days ago when there was a leakage in a neighbour’s house, helping with which Anil himself came to see.

Further, the neighbour also described Anil’s relationship with his family, saying that he was a jolly person and had a great bond with his kids and wife. Although, the neighbour revealed–”When I met him a few days ago, he seemed ‘low on energy’. Usually, Anil was always happy and mingled with everyone. This time, I found him lacking that energy.” If reports are to be believed, Malaika Arora’s father is said to be battling with depression, although nothing from the family is confirmed. Late last night, Malaika Arora shared a heart-wrenching note, announcing his father’s untimely demise. She also requested for privacy during the tough times.
