The confession has left social media surprised, presenting a lesser-known, gentler side of the politician whose face and voice are most synonymous with fiery parliamentary interventions. Mahua Moitra On Having A Crush On Pankaj Tripathi

During a recent interview with India Today, Mahua opened up about her love for Bollywood films and, in particular, her fondness for Tripathi’s work. While discussing her film preferences, she said she enjoys rewatching classics like the Munnabhai series and Vicky Donor, but it’s Tripathi’s gritty, layered performances that truly captivated her. She admitted to watching the entire Mirzapur series because of him and said she found his villainous roles irresistibly cool.

Her adoration did not extend to merely watching his movies. Mahua explained that she had once written a handwritten letter to Tripathi, informing him of her appreciation and even suggesting an informal coffee date. The letter, which was given to a news anchor interviewing Tripathi in turn, remained unresponded to, perhaps, she teased, because the actor finds his peace in Alibaug and does not indulge in such encounters readily.

She also remembered approaching Parliamentarian and actor Ravi Kishan for assistance to reach out to Tripathi. He was able to organise a phone conversation between the two, but Mahua jokingly conceded that when the time arrived, she was so anxious, she had forgotten that she had even written the note at all.

Meanwhile, Tripathi keeps impressing on screen. He is best known for playing roles in Newton, Stree, and Gangs of Wasseypur. He last appeared in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino and received accolades for playing a role in Criminal Justice Season 3. He’s also returning to play Kaleen Bhaiya in Mirzapur: The Film and features in Stree 3 and a new socially-conscious drama by OMG 2 director Amit Rai.
