The world is currently soaking in the magic of Brad Pitt’s insane F1 movie. While we cannot get enough of the amazing VFX and the real Grand Prix, the film’s executive producer and seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, doesn’t. The British racer said that rushing into a sequel would be the ‘worst thing they could do.’ Read to know more.
Lewis Hamilton On F1 Movie Sequel
Lewis Hamilton currently wants to enjoy the film’s success. The picture became Apple’s biggest box-office blockbuster yet, grossing $55.6 million in North American theatres and $144 million globally over the weekend, according to studio estimates released Sunday. Hamilton spoke to the British media ahead of the British Grand Prix, where he told new agency AP, “We literally just finished it, so I think the last thing we want right now is a sequel.”
The 39-year-old racer explained the hard work and intensity it took to make the film in four years, especially for Joseph Kosinski. He highlighted the sacrifice of working hard without meeting your family, and urged the filmmakers to breathe before thinking of a sequel. According to Lewis, rushing into a sequel would be the worst decision since they always fall short of the original film.

Hamilton also mentioned that he brought elements from his Formula 1 background into the filmmaking process. He encouraged a review of the project—similar to an F1 ‘debrief’ to assess what worked and what could be improved. He noted that while this may not be standard practice in the film industry, it’s a mindset he’s adopted from racing.
